WHAT IS TONGUEINA?

TongueIna is a website where we’ll be diving deep into the language choices among Filipino youth. We uncover the reasons why some young people prefer using English and why others lean more towards Filipino. By understanding the cultural, social, and personal factors involved, we take a deep dive into the reasons behind their choice of language. Join us in learning the linguistic expressions of Filipino youth.

To explore the unique factors that shape the English and Filipino language preferences of Filipino youth, bring this information to light for people to have a better understanding and more open mind, and encourage fluency in both languages to foster a future where bilingualism in English and Filipino is a source of strength and unity.

To foster cultural understanding and harmony among Filipino youth by understanding and respecting each other’s language preferences, bridging gaps, and creating a society where the English and Filipino languages are both appreciated and studied more.

Hey, glad you’re here! I am John Jacob Matubis, the creator of this project. I believe that learning more than one language is essential and beautiful because it not only introduces you to new words but also to new people, ideas, and cultures.
